The game of paintball was started in the early 1970's when it was used as a tool for marking trees and livestock. Charles Gaines, Hayes Noel and Bob Gurnsey were the first people to find this new way to use the guns.The first recreational paintball game was in 1981 when 12 friends played on a field measuring over 100 acres. Since then paintballing has evolved into different types of games and has been modified for safety.

Proper safety gear is essential when playing paintball. The following table provides an outline of the gear needed
